Prof. Ghazzal is to be commended for completing his mammoth manuscript, The Grammars of Adjudication, and for beginning work on a new and equally ambitious project. I am concerned about the prospects of publishing such a huge manuscript in the current academic market of university presses. I also am convinced that Prof. Ghazzal ought to present more his path-breaking scholarship in the form of papers at scholarly conferences (something that he used to do a great deal of) and in the form of journal articles. Not only would this give him potentially useful feedback, but it would keep him engaged in the ongoing discussions and debates of his sub-discipline. Prof. Ghazzal is one of the most serious intellectuals in the department, but I am concerned that he is becoming too isolated in his work.
